----------

FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS!!

As some of you may know.. First Fridays in the Courtyard (http://www.courtyard-rva.blogspot.com) has been an event every First Friday of each month for the past 6 months and has thrived pretty steadily at 304 N. Adams Street.

With city regulators cracking down on capacity limitations, city regulations for the building surrounding the First Friday events, Shannon and Heather took it upon themselves to seek them out for guidance on how to make First Fridays in the Courtyard a legitimate event.

The girls soon realized that this was no easy task, they had to come up with exit signs to mount in the courtyard, something the building did not have originally. After consulting with inspectors on the cost of such an installation, the consensus was $2,000 total, this includes: the exit signs themselves, the electric work involved to successfully have the signs illuminated for each event and on a regular basis, and the drywall work that needs to be done to patch up the wiring.

purple + blue wants to help First Fridays in the Courtyard on putting on a fundraiser to help this special addition to the community stay alive. Due to these circumstances, instead of Nov 6th (the next First Friday) the courtyard event will be moved to a new location that will be announced fairly soon.

purple + blue wants to ask the artists and the musicians that have played in the past 6 events to help contribute a kick ass fundraiser!

Those of you who want to play the fundraiser and those of you who want to contribute art for sale, it would be most appreciative and most awesome of you to help fund an event that Richmond has come to love and support!
